Filomena Moretti

Filomena Moretti studied at the Sassari Conservatoire in Sardinia, from which she graduated after receiving the special jury prize. She went on to study with Ruggero Chiesa.  Between 1985 and 1996, Filomena took part in many international competitions : Sassari (finalist), Fernando Sor, Rome (finalist), Gargano (finalist), Mondovi (first prize and special mention), Cagliari ('Golfo degli Angeli' prize), Stresa (first prize), Alessandria (first prize and special mention), and ARAM (first prize). In 1998, she received the Golden Guitar Award for her recording of Fernando Sor. Filomena Moretti appears regularly in Hamburg (Spiegelsaal, Museum für Künst und Gewerde), Wolfsburg (Gartensaal in the castle), Berlin (Zittadelle), Kiev, Warsaw (Chopin Foundation), Milan (invited by the Società dei Concerti,Verdi Conservatoire), Turin (Salone della Musica), Paris (Musicora and Les TransClassiques), Reims (Flâneries Musicales d'Eté), Montpellier (Festival de Radio-France et Montpellier). She also appears with major orchestras as the Orchestre National de Lille, the Orchestre de Bretagne, the Orchestre National de Bordeaux. Filomena Moretti has followed masterclasses with A. Diaz, D. Russel, J. Bream, J. Tomas, and M. Barrueco. Her concerts are broadcast by the television channels Muzzik and Mezzo, and she has taken part in programmes on France 2 (Le Cercle de Minuit, Musique au Coeur). Filomena Moretti was born in 1973 at Sassari, Sardinia.
